Chelsea have told skipper John Terry he can stay at Stamford Bridge for one more season if he takes a reported 50% pay-cut. The 33-year-old's current salary is said to be £150k per week.

Officials at Manchester City say they are not planning to sack Manuel Pellegrini after just one season at the Etihad Stadium. The Citizens dismissed Roberto Mancini last year after they finished second in the Premier League but a senior club source revealed: "Pellegrini will definitely still be in charge next season - guaranteed." He added it was 'chaos behind the scenes 12 months ago' but that under the 60-year-old Chilean "it's a much happier and more settled club."

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is confident that on-loan Frenchman Loic Remy will sign a permanent deal at St James Park before next season. Pardew said: "I'd like to think it's a good chance. He's a good fit for this club and the famous No 9 shirt sits well on him."
